game. set. Match!

SCROLL DOWN

game. set. Match!

We met on the world wide web...

"What's your favorite Malcolm Gladwell book?" he asked. Her response: "Outliers." ... a bit more small talk later and our first date was set up! Wednesday 12/12/12 would be the day. The place? Coach House in Old Town, Scottsdale.

"I'll see you there at 7:00 sharp," he said. Little did he know that she is routinely 15 minutes late to everything (... that's being generous). Fortunately, she called to let him know. Otherwise, we wouldn't be here today writing this copy for our wedding website :) This was also the time he unknowingly said goodbye to the days he was ten minutes early to everything...

Welcome everybody!

About Us

About Us

The Groom

Russell was born to Keith & Gail Reese in Fremont, CA. Shortly thereafter there were a lot of family moves (due to his father's career success) from CA to OR to NM and ultimately to Arizona. Russell mostly grew up in Albuquerque, NM  and grew to love the people and food there. Yum! Russell played tennis (amongst other sports)  in high school and went on to win State his Senior year. Sadly, that same year, Gail passed away suddenly with a brain hemorrhage. She continues to watch over us all and is missed greatly every day. Russell attended Arizona State University to stay closer to home and majored in Supply Chain Management graduating in 2011. Afterwards, Russell served as a Financial Analyst at Mollen Immunization Clinics. Russell has since found great success at Western Refining, oil refinery, where he serves today as a Product Distribution Coordinator dispatching trucks throughout the Southwest... Now it gets to the fun part.

Timeline:

  1. Russell joins match.com.
  2. Russell meets Girl #1. #lame
  3. Russell meets Erin for drinks on 12/12/12 at the Coachhouse.
  4. Russell joins Erin and Erin's friends in Scottsdale. Russell gets a kiss from Erin as she enters taxi.
  5. Russell was not scared away by "Darin Erin's" aggressiveness. He asks her out on date #2 to dinner and zoo-lights a few nights later.
  6. Russell left a witty voicemail asking Erin out on their last date before she went home for the holidays. We went to True Food Kitchen and watched Elf.
  7. Russell hides a surprise 'Christmas' card in (thanks for the idea, Jenny, the bunny!)
  8. Russell gets an annoying amount of selfies/ video's and can't wait to pick Erin up at the airport.
  9. Russell introduces Erin to the Parents.
  10. Russell meets Erin's family in AZ.
  11. Both get seals of approval.
  12. The rest is history!

The Bride

Erin was born to Ryan & Dianne Harbaugh in Cincinnati, OH. Erin had a boring (haha yea right) childhood in the heart of the midwest and tried to get involved in every extracurricular activity humanely possible. You name it - soccer, basketball (I always wanted to be good!), lacrosse, track, horseback riding, yearbook, chorus, you get it... Wanting to get out of the cold, Erin applied Early Decision to Elon University (North Carolina) and couldn't wait to live that Southern life she saw in the movies. She had a great four years (hehe :) and graduated in 2010 with a Double Major in Psychology and Strategic Communications. Erin couldn't yet picture leaving the best state just quite yet, so she packed a uhaul and her college cat, Todd, and headed due west to Charlotte. Thanks to her parents support, she was able to get on her feet and see what this 'real world' thing was all about -- one dull job after another. Erin's official first job was at Lowe's Corporate HQ as a Social Media Specialist and then went to work at Belk (Department Store) HQ as a eCommerce Analyst. Still freezing mid- July, she yearned for the land of the sun and temps dipping into the 90's. What was she thinking?! She drove cross country with her mom in April of 2012 and got started at a young Financial Services start-up in the hip downtown Scottsdale. Now, we're finally at the fun part.

Timeline:

  1. Erin joins match.com.
  2. Erin meets Boy #1. #talkaboutanego
  3. Erin meets Russell for drinks on 12/12/12 at Coachhouse.
  4. Erin invites Russell out to Old Town, Scottsdale to meet her friends who were visiting. Erin kisses Russell as she says goodbye entering into a taxicab.
  5. Erin was happy that Russell wanted to go out with her again and loved his thoughtful date idea to the zoo to see her favorite giraffe :)
  6. Erin loved the 'nerds' & 'reeses' candy that Russell brought over for movie snacks.
  7. Finding the card totally sealed the deal made Erin so happy. She couldn't wait until Christmas morning!
  8. Erin wanted Russell to know she was thinking of him so she let him know it!
  9. Erin meets the Parents.
  10. Erin introduces Russell to her family in AZ.
  11. Both give seals of approval.
  12. The rest is history!

He Proposed!

The BEST day ... so far :)

He Proposed!

The BEST day ... so far :)

Again, thanks to all who helped throughout the day and guided Erin to her final destination on time. And guys, feel free to give credit where it’s due when you ‘steal’ my idea.
— The Groom
I didn’t know when it was going to happen or how but always knew it’d be special. To say ‘special’ today would be an understatement. It was the most meaningful day of my life and I never could’ve imagined it. There are no words to describe how I felt. He took my words and my breath right away.
— The Bride

For those of you who've heard this story, you're in luck -- here it is again! (single boys, take notes.)

"The Plan":

  1. "Golf" @ Papago Park Golf Course- Brandi (Erin's friend from the Junior League of Phoenix)
    1. Brandi gave Erin her first 'clue' (index card) to which Erin started crying due to lack of caffeine and emotions on overload... "No, this isn't really happening today, is it?" The phone calls home start.
  2. Phoenix Zoo - Stacy (sister / bridesmaid) & Baby Ryan (nephew / ring bearer)
    1. Russell had to deliver the next 'clue' and also brought an iced coffee because he knows the key to my heart <3
  3. Manicure/ Pedicure - ReiAnne (sister / bridesmaid )
    1. "so he does listen,"  I (Erin) thought :)
  4. True Food Kitchen - Katherine (cousin) & Ryan P. (groomsmen)
  5. Top Golf - Brandi, Adam, Katherine, Ryan P., Jason, Ryan A. (friends!)
  6. Costco - Keith & Kelley (parents)
  7. Tennis court & new racquet!- Ryan A. (groomsmen)
  8. Home to a dozen roses and a 'lurve' cd of our favorite songs - Mike (best man) & Michelle (bridesmaid)
  9. Fro Yo - Ramsay (bridesmaid)
  10. Starbucks - ReiAnne X 2
  11. Parent's house in Desert Mountain & homemade chocolate-covered strawberries in the shape of a heart- Liza (bridesmaid)
    1. Pit Stop: Hiking Trail - more flowers, a love note & the LAST CLUE!
      1. Last clue: "Go to the place where we will be a year from today!"
  12. Chiricahua - the ring! oh, and Russell, THE GROOM!
    1. I can't forget to mention our amateur but surprisingly talented photographer, Jason, was there to capture the moment.

She Said 'Yes!'

She Said 'Yes!'

on time for the first time on 8/23/2014:

After a long (fun!) day, Erin amazingly was right on time just before the sunset. Without wasting time, partially due to nerves, Russell quickly got down on one knee and asked Erin who quickly said "YES!" and then blubbered on about how special of a day it was. We're so thankful that our close friend, Jason, could be there to catch the special moment on film! Thanks Dirty Bit!

We couldn't wait to share the good news with all our friends and family. It's crazy to think that in a few months, we will be getting married in the exact same spot!
